June in our garden

We use Knautia macedonica a lot in the garden - its easy from seed, gives some flower in the first year of growth and is tough and forgiving of neglect. However, it is a rangey and straggly plant that needs a cutting back occassionally
Early June is when we plant out greenhouse-raised courgette and runner bean plants. You can normally guarentee a period of cold, windy wearther will follow!
Stemmacantha centauroiodes is just erupting into flower after weeks of tantilising silver buds. By the way this plant has had its name changed (for the umpteenth time); now known as Rhaponticum centauroides
